APPLE VALLEY, Calif. — With greater than 350 challengers beforehand stepping up to the scales, the Mayor’s Weight Loss Challenge will return to Apple Valley for its third competitors because the program started in 2015.
Under the umbrella of the Town’s Healthy Apple Valley Program, the Mayor’s Weight Loss Challenge was the primary group-extensive weight-loss problem to come to Apple Valley.
“The Mayor’s Weight Loss Challenge has brought hundreds of Apple Valley residents their own success stories,” stated Mayor Larry Cusack. “I myself lost over 50 pounds during the 2015 challenge. This year, I will personally donate $1,000 in prize money to the winning contestants. We invite sponsors and all gyms in Apple Valley to join us this year for the biggest challenge yet!”
A Facebook group will hold members on monitor for month-to-month weigh-ins, upcoming occasions, and healthy recipes to attempt. Among different scheduled actions, members are invited to check out lap swimming at no cost on the Town’s Aquatic Center, and a number of other individuals may have the prospect to win month-to-month passes for lap swimming and water fitness courses.
“This has been a great way to keep Apple Valley’s residents on track and living a healthier lifestyle,” stated Steve Orr Director of Business Development at Heritage Victor Valley Medical Group. “This year we are matching the mayor’s $1000 to the overall grand prize winnings. We hope to see more community partners join us in promoting this outstanding event.”
Participants can now register on-line at www.AVRecreation.org. Onsite registration and first weigh-ins will happen at Town Hall on Jan. 9, 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. and once more on Jan. 10, 7:30 to 9:00 a.m. The last weigh-ins for the problem are scheduled for May 1. Results will probably be based mostly on complete proportion of weight loss.
